COURSE OVERVIEW
This course provides an in depth exploration of the Kennedy/Applegate classification system for partial denture cases, along with the essential components and biomechanical principles of removable partial dentures (RPDs). Participants will evaluate design strategies for varying oral conditions and compare the properties, indications and limitations of modern partial denture materials. This course emphasizes clinical decision making that supports predictable and functional RPD outcomes.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of this course, attendees should be able to:
■ Apply the Kennedy/Applegate classification system to diagnose partial edentulism and guide treatment planning for partial denture cases 
■ Identify and describe the functional purpose of each major component of a removable partial denture 
■ Evaluate the indications, contraindications and clinical performance characteristics of contemporary partial denture materials to determine optimal materials selection for individual patient needs

Tramain Watkins, BA, CDT, has been working in the dental laboratory industry for more than 35 years. He has extensive experience fabricating analog and digital prosthetics, with expertise in implant-supported and retained restorations. A respected lecturer on both laboratory and clinical aspects of restorative dentistry, Tramain trains technicians and provides clinical support in case planning, troubleshooting and implant placement.
