Protocols and Procedures for Intraoral
Scanning:
Crowns, Implants and Removables
COURSE OVERVIEW
This course provides a comprehensive overview of intraoral scanning protocols for fixed, implant and removable prosthodontic cases. Participants will examine ergonomic principles, recommended scan paths and digital case submission procedures for single unit crowns, implant restorations and denture related workflows. Through live demonstrations, attendees will observe step by step scanning techniques, strategies for correcting common errors and optimal wand orientation for capturing accurate anatomical data.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of this course, attendees should be able to:
■ Apply foundational restorative scanning principles to achieve accurate digital impressions for single unit crown procedures
■ Execute charting and intraoral scanning techniques for implant crowns and reference dentures using established digital protocols
■ Enhance scanning speed, efficiency and ergonomic performance by integrating workflow optimization strategies
■ Evaluate the accuracy of digital bite registrations and confirm occlusal validity using verification checkpoints
■ Analyze anatomical features of edentulous areas and determine the most appropriate scanning strategy to ensure complete and accurate data capture
